About 20 years ago I got a gift... a gramophone record titled "Geets of Hemant Kumar" Columbia LP 33ESX 4251. Prior to that I had been exposed mostly to Hemant's 70s and 80s voice since that was the regular fare on the radio. And this record had a completely "new" Hemant's voice, a soft nasal voice, with a higher timbre. I instantly fell in love with the songs on that LP. It had 11 songs...kitna dukh bhulaya tumne was the first song of side 1 and gaon ki rani was the last song on side 2. That record is indeed a collectors item featuring Hemant's best geets from the 40s. All the songs of that record, save the one below have been posted on RMIM. So here goes the last song from that LP. Incidentally, the cover of the LP has been reused by HMV as the cover of the CD titled "Magic moments Hemant Kumar". \startsong \stitle{aaj sharaabii aa.Nkho.n se} \film{Non-film} \year{} \starring{} \singer{Hemant} \music{} \lyric{} % %Contributor: Prithviraj Dasgupta %Transliterator: Prithviraj Dasgupta %Comments: Approx. year sounds to be mid 40s %Date: Dec 27, 2000 % \printtitle #indian aaj sharaabii aa.Nkho.n se piine kii ham ne Thaanii ab saaqii se kaam nahii.n hai.n pyaaraa ham ko jaam nahii.n hai.n ab to saaqii aur saaqar hai.n do aa.Nkhe.n mastaanii rishtaa to.Daa maiKaane se naataa to.Daa paimaane se pyaasii nazar ne jab se dekhii ek sar\-shaar javaanii kahaa.N vo mastii hai.n saagar me.n jo terii madamaatii nazar me.n in aa.Nkho.n me.n amR^it hai.n pyaale me.n laal paanii aaj sharaabii aa.Nkho.n se \threedots #endindian \endsong
