An MD whose body of work in HFM and in Indian
music is not very prolific, features in this song:
Kanu Ghosh. Probably, his two greatest claims to
fame are, first, he was conductor of the
Bombay AIR choir in the 50s, 60s and 70s(?),
and second, he was a close associate and assistant 
MD to SalilC in many movies. A Website even credits 
him for composing the soundtrack of Anand(1970)

However, he was also an MD in his own right.
In the four songs composed by Kanu Ghosh that 
I have heard, there is no shade of influence 
of SalilC.

In Bengali, he has composed two songs by Geeta 
Dutt "ektu chaaoaa aar ektu paaoaa/sonaay Dheke anga",
both penned by SalilC.

His credits as MD in HFM are limited to two
films in the late 50s. Naya Zamana (1957)
and Pyar ki Rahen (1959).

"Pyar ki Rahen" features a Mukesh song, that is
commercially available "do roz me vo pyaar ka aalam".
The site www.singermukesh.com lists this song
under "one hit MD-s for Mukesh", because this song 
seems to be the only instance KanuG-Mukesh worked
together. Its the same case for Hemant too.
Hemant and KanuG worked together only on
this one duet...a parting song between the
male and female characters in the movie,
with the background music conveying the beats
of some sort of a transport...the rhythmic
clatter of a train, or the hoof-beats of
a horse(carriage).
