This time a short solo by Hemant. MANZIL had music by SD Burman, and as usual he doesnt disappoint us. There are couple of good songs in the movie, not by Hemant, so I wont discuss them here. But I must mention on splendid duet of Asha and Manna 'aye kaash chalke milte... ham teen raahi dil ke... chand aur main aur tu...'. The Hemantda song could easily be the best of the movie if you can ignore the 'chupke se mile pyaase pyaase...' duet by Rafi and Asha. I guess this movie came in the period when SDB wasnt working with Lata? Often I feel that SDB also gave Asha her best. But then who did he not give their best to? The song starts off with an excellent prelude of flute. All through the song, you can hear excellent piano notes...A soft and intoxicating song, could lead one to believe that the actor is actually intoxicated by the heroine's eyes. Hemantda's voice portrays the emotion only too well... Songs like this make him the singer he is, not just being around in the 50s...
For now I could remember only this much. If there are more stanzas, maybe someone could followup or maybe I will at a later point in time. This song is available in Hemant Kumar: Anmol Rattan vol. 8 HMV SPHO 833078 and in another release of the movie's soundtrack - Sharabi and Manzil, a must have soundtrack for all Madan Mohan and SDB fans.
