This time a morale-boosting solo by Hemantda, which was yet another mood his voice could portray very well.He couldnt do justice to the loud songs, though he did do some peppy ones(As Satish Kalra pointed out). Another great melody from Anil Biswas. Melodies like this make him the composer he is. His songs are never noisy and how can they be?...His singers arent.:) He avoided the noisy ones I guess:) (he he! couldnt resist it).The other good point of this song is that the chorus joins after the first few words and continuously hums the tune in the background, without obstructing Hemantda's singing, and stop briefly at one or two places. So it serves more as music than as chorus. The movie is Jalti Nishani and the lyricist Qamar Jalalabadi. (This time I checked the pstats:))
When I wrote about the pauses, I remembered a post by Ashok, which mentioned a pause that Chetan heard in the song "Seene mein sulagte hain armaan"...I have no idea if there is any in that song, but I am sure it is not obvious. Call me tin-eared or philistine if you so wish, but one person hearing a pause, tells me that the pause might as well not be there. And I feel that the pauses in this Hemantda song are electrifying and go with the lyrics...and they are not the kind that half the public would hear and the other half wouldnt...they are not at all doubtful pauses. The chorus, music and the singer all stop for a brief moment and then continue... You have to hear this song to believe in its beauty.
